"KIM Hyung-seok was born in 1971. He graduated from Korea University with a major in Western history and completed graduate coursework in the Department of Film Art at Dongguk University. From 1993 to 1997, he worked at the cinema group called Munhwahakkyo Seoul (now Cinematheque Seoul), and he has been active as a freelancer since the mid 1990s. In 2000, he joined the staff of the cinema monthly SCREEN. During 2001 and 2002, he participated in the launching of the film weekly Movieweek and spent one year working as a reporter. In 2003, he returned to SCREEN, where he is now serving as chief editor."
